Speed Typing Test Brand New Mode Format

Now that we have placed all the effects under one concentration mode, TypeAddict is working on adding two new essential modes that completely change the user experience.

1. Practice mode

When users come to this site to test their typing skills, they will be asked to get directed to this mode if their speed is below the average 40 wmp. Here, one can improve his/her typing skills by participating in seven different drills, each focusing on different letters and symbols on the keyboard. This mode consists of a combination of letters and words that specifically concentrates on the areas of typing that YOU require most help on. Once you feel you have improved, take the graduation test to see if you have what it takes to move on to bigger and more challenging adventures.

2. Marathon Mode

This is a game setting in which users have three lives to complete certain typing tasks in each level. In a nutshell, players have 60 econds to maintain a speed of 20WMP without making any mistakes while following all the instructions in each level. Your final score will be based on the sum of all WPM in the levels you have completed.

Stay tuned for updates on the release on each of these modes in our speed typing test!

TypeAddict Speed Typing Test New Approach - typing under ANY circumstances

After a break from blogging, TypeAddict is back with a more powerful approach than ever before. We want to be the first site to allow typing under ANY circumstances. Whether you are under water, in space, on top of a mountain, racing in your Ferrari or simply in front of your computer, TypeAddict has a concentration course waiting for you. We have grouped all previous modes into one "concentration mode" with a new and improved measuring mechanism and a more complete typing and title spectrum. Now users can see their improvement graph as they practice in different environments and earn titles and achievement along the way. Moreover, members can now gain engagement points based on how often they participate on the site.

A drawback from the previous version is that all the modes are too similar. Although there were clear effect differentiation among each of the modes from its predecessor, the overall goal was never achieved in that the typing speed and accuracy in each mode remained very similar for every individual. TypeAddict took your feedbacks and eliminated this problem by limiting the number of modes (now known as "concentration") and making the remaining ones a lot more "cirumstantially difficult" as compared to the normal level.

Mobile Typing, Ipad Friendly

Typeaddict's innovative new layout is exactly what ipad users need to practice their typing on the ipad and other mobile devices. When users place their cursor on the blank box, the ipad keyboard will pop up on screen, without interfering with any of the typing words. This design is one of the first releases on the internet for ipad users to practicing their typing skills.

We have also made the words case insensitive for user friendly ipad purposes. Upper and lower cases will no longer matter as one battles to type as fast as possible within one minute.

Try and see if you can get a better score typing on the virtual ipad keyboard as opposed to a real keyboard.

Learn to Type in 3D

The 3D feature in movie theaters has only been released for just over a year. It is becoming very popular even though we are forced to wear the goofy 3D glasses.

Our latest release is the 3D mode where members can test type under a 3D environment 'without' wearing those 3D glasses. Although the effect is very visible, it does not seem to play a major role in typing discrepancy, at least for me anyways, since all the words are still quite clear and legible.

Upon practicing your standard typing skills in this new mode, feel free to leave a comment in the Feedback section as to what your thoughts are on this innovative 3D mode.

Typing Speed Distribution Compared with Others

An average typist types 40 to 50 words per minute (wpm). However, modern day office positions often require employees to type 60 to 80 wpm In fact, dispatch positions may have requirements of up to 100 wpm.

Some of the fastest typists in the world can type over 200 wpm, which is unbelievable in my opinion.

In order to see where your typing speed ranks among the normal distribution curve, we have come up with a spectrum that gives you a "Title" based on where your typing skills fall. For example, if you range between 30 to 40 words per minute, your Title will be "Amateur."

Practice typing now to see what Title you can achieve!

Numerical Typing Test Online

We have recently released two new modes for members to tackle their numerical typing speed. This unique idea can be crucial for those applying for jobs such as cashier or accountant positions.

The "number" mode consists of a series of numbers that are 2 to 4 characters long. Although there are only 10 numbers in all (0-9), it is ironically often slower to type than words consisting of its 26 letter alphabet. If in doubt,  give it a try and compare it with your normal typing speed.

The "formula" mode is much more difficult as normal typists are not accustomed to 'plus' 'minus' and 'equal' signs.  If your job or schooling deals with typing basic math formulas, this is the perfect mode to practice typing.

Thank you for following and supporting TypeAddict. We will soon be launching a "learner's mode" for newcomers to practice their typing skills at the speed and word difficulty that they feel comfortable at. Stay tuned!

Reverse Typing Speed Test

Have you ever had to give a presentation at a coffee shop to a group of people and be required to write backwards in order for everyone to see? If so, you should know how difficult it is to provide such an illustration, especially if there is a time constraint.

The last typing mode open to all users without registering helps you improve just that. The reverse typing mode has words that appear upside down, starting from the opposite direction. This is definitely our typing program's biggest challenge yet for you.

Give it a try and see how fast and accurate you can still type compared to normal mode!  Try the reverse typing speed test by clicking on the reverse button at www.typeaddict.com.
